Today, we celebrated Halloween a little early. We rose before dawn as usual, and carved a pumpkin from the veg patch.

Later in the morning, we made our way to some tranquil local woodland where we had arranged a toddler group Halloween walk. It is the 3rd year that our group has come together at this time, and it's evolving into a lovely tradition.

Some fairy folk, or maybe witches, had lined the pathway with clementines and candles.

Half way through, we came together and I told a story using some small wooden animals and our carved pumpkin as props.

We discovered a fantastic tepee and the children enjoyed playing inside for a while.

At the end of the walk, we all sat down near the lake and enjoyed some lovely cake, warm drinks and chats with great friends.
We returned home late in the afternoon, and the boys asked for an early night. I may soon join them!

And a wonderful Halloween we had with you all! I just posted a few pics myself: http://wildparenting.net/2011/11/01/the-latest/
