On the day he was born, Rupert was called an 'observer'. He seemed content with just relaxing and watching the world unfold around him. Before Hugo and Charlie could walk, they used to love jumping up and down while I (or mummy) supported them. They used to do it until my arms felt like they would drop off! Rupert prefers to watch me jump up and down! At every jump I get a little giggle. There is something just so wonderful about being able to make a baby giggle!
Now, however, Rupert is quickly becoming the boss of the family. He appears to be in complete control of his world. If he wants something, he will reach for it until it comes, and if it doesn't he will shout for it! He is adored by his brothers, but if they start to get on his nerves he will certainly tell them so (in his own language of course). But, just like his elder brothers, he is always happiest outside, and whenever he seems frustrated he can be quickly quelled with a walk around the garden where there is plenty to see, especially if he gets to watch the chickens!
The other reason he is happiest outside is because he is a charmer! He is invariably in the sling with mummy and adores the attention he gets at eye level. I will often look over and see some stranger laughing and smiling away because Rupert is giving them one of his huge toothless smiles.

Other things Rupert loves includes playing with food (he's not really eating much yet), having a bath (he almost flies out of mummy's hands whenever he see's Hugo and Charlie in the bath!) and, to blow my own trumpet, me! Every time I walk in the room, he gives me one of his huge smiles. Rupert is only seven months old and I am still getting to know him properly, but I'm loving every moment of doing so.
