New Chickens

This weekend we welcomed our new chickens.

  

All 3 children are already hooked on Richard, Isabel, Henrietta and Chicken/Spot (they are still deciding on the name).

They have come from a friend of a friend, who needed to get rid of them.  We are keeping them in the large pen for a couple of days so that they feel a bit more secure after the move, and tomorrow they will be free to roam the garden, field and farmyard next door.  It's great to have chickens again, and this time a handsome cockerel amongst them.  Fingers crossed we'll see some chicks this year.
